I had a marker? Think that’s what it’s called put on my address due to previous DV with my ex. This was almost 10 years ago now I would like it removed as no longer relevant. Does anyone know if it’s possible? Do I just ring 101?

It's a treat as urgent marker for the police so they know to prioritise a call there. No one else knows about it but them and you
Just leave it.

Google would answer your question. You didn’t answer mine, if you don’t know what it is why comment 🤷🏻‍♀️

I would guess that the ex has possibly moved/passed away?

Bittenonce · 21/12/2024 15:48

I think these have a finite lifespan so it’s probably dropped off now anyway. Your local police could tell you. But I wouldn’t stress about it, all it means is that Emergency Services should prioritise you if you should need to call them

Calypsocuckoo · 21/12/2024 15:49

Does your local council have a DV team or local women’s aid, you could ring them and ask for the marker to be removed. However, as it means that you would get an urgent response from the police if you called 999 and no one would even know about it, I am not sure why you would want it removed ? But maybe you could talk this through with the DA team as they could liaise with the police.

They're not indefinite

CombatBarbie · 21/12/2024 15:51

I have a marker on my property and phone number so I'm guessing you'd just go to the local police station and ask for it to be removed?
