Would you feel uncomfortable if your boyfriend of 8 months was going on a work Xmas do (at a bar), that was only him and 7 or 8 single women, even if you trusted him?

Yes, if it's his colleagues I wouldn't have an issue, and even so for a boyfriend of 8 months it's up to them what they do.

If you have an issue with it you may want to reassess what you want your future relationship to be. Unless he's a known cheat there's no issue.

It’s a Christmas works do not a gang bang. He works with these women all day long so it’s just an extension of work

I do the reverse due to working in such a male dominant space. So no I'd have no issue, however they are mostly in relationships not single, not that that can make a difference if people have that inclination to cheat or go after someone who is taken.. comes down to whether you trust your partner or not really.
