So so so out of the loop with dating, 14 years to be exact! Had a few chats (in person) with a guy involved with a joint interest of both of ours. I very bravely (for me) asked if he wanted to do a spontaneous activity but he had an appointment so couldn't but said another time would be good. Do I follow this up? Do I wait for him to mention it? I'd like to dip my toe back in the dating game but really don't know how to progress !! Please help me relearn the skills I need! @!!@

Personally, I wouldn’t follow that up - I’d want to see him showing some initiative now the preliminary ask has occurred.

When my DP and I unexpectedly got together later in life we took it slowly, becoming deeper and deeper friends…we’d met dog walking…it was very natural and unforced. Good luck.

I'd wait for him to follow up.

I’m similar age and I wouldn’t follow up. You’ve asked him, he knows you’re interested, leave the ball in his court now.
