Any advice from those who have been successful meeting a partner in real-life. What did you do to try to put yourself in the right places at the right times?
Moved to a new area just before pandemic and don’t know many people really so friendship circle is limited. Have two teenagers. Am early 40s. Hate the apps and find them awful and useless.

Try Meet Up for local mixed social groups, there are some that are specifically for singles but even those that aren't tend to have a good number of single people. Walking groups, sports groups, theatre and cinema groups.

Not me but friends have met people through...

Gym classes
Dance classes
Meet up social groups
Walking clubs
Park run
Volunteering

I have several friends who've had success using the hinge dating app though.

Met him at scuba diving club. Scuba's quite sexy too because you protect your buddy at all times, maybe even save their life as one of my buddies did with me. Also, lots of men do it.
