Counselling

Could anybody who has had a counselling session tell me how much is reasonable for an hour?

I've posted under the relationships section as the counselling would be about a few relationships (not romantic ones) so it's not couples counselling.

Thank you Flowers

Normally anywhere between £50-100

So just to be clear it’s individual counselling for just you, not couples counselling with a partner?

My current counsellor charges £50 a session. I previously saw someone who charged £60. As it happens the £50 one is much better!

I’d say £50-75 is probably the norm.

Depends on quite a lot. Where you live; what their specialism is; whether they have additional training, e.g. EMDR; even gender, as men tend to charge more; type of counselling they do - specialist CBT therapists tend to charge more than humanistic therapists. Price is not necessarily an indicator of quality though. Have you got a more specific question?

I pay £50 if it's over the phone, £60 in person (because she drives to my home) costly, but she's been amazing so it's worth the money imo.

BTW I charge £60, my therapist charges me £60. I had a supervisor who wasn't that great who charges £65 and I have some concessions on £30-£50. My sister went to someone who was terrible and charges £70.
