So I am a family lawyer, and I appreciate I am exposed to this stuff more than the average person… but is it me or is there SO much more abuse happening these days?
I work in private law, so no care proceedings in respect of children. Really just divorce and private children matters. But just this week I have dealt with cases where men have strangled their wives, shot family pets, beat animals up in front of children, thrown women down stairs, driven drunk with babies in the car. The list goes on.
I LOVE my job and I wouldn’t change it for the world. I’m not complaining about it at all, or anything like that. My manager is a man and he is amazing. I am not being precious - I escaped an abusive marriage myself and I’m resilient to the extreme. Generally there is not a lot I can’t handle. But honestly this week has just got me thinking, why is it SO bad? I myself have been single for years. I haven’t met anyone actually decent. I am not bitter, I love my life, but is this just me? Has anyone else thought relationships and men generally are just… deteriorating? Why?
Anyway, rant over. Just a bit emotionally done in this week 😅
Would welcome tales of hope…!
