Friend stuck in toxic relationship with no money to create an exit plan

A dear friend has moved in with a partner in South East London, taking her 16 year old son with her. He has just started A Levels. The relationship is crumbling and sounds on the verge of becoming unsafe (drinking, rows, aggressive behaviour). She has recently lost her job and has no money to exit and no real family to help. She needs to get out and find a safe/calm environment for her and her son. Can anyone advise on housing/help/starting points for her. I don't live in London and I'm struggling to know how to help. Thank you.

Women's aid would be first port of call.

What was her living situation before?

My first thought is to contact her local council and see if they can provide temporary accommodation.

She was living in rented accommodation before she moved in with him. Good plan on council. and thank you for the other recommendations.

MK Act in Milton Keynes has a refuge that takes in boys that age.

They will also give great advise over the phone.

I know from own experience when I found myself in similar position.

I had £4 and no job when I left my relationship.

I still left.

Tell her to contact MK Act, they have a website and are open till 4. The have telephone lines open as well and will give alternative options.

A huge thank you @TheseBootsAreWalking for your insight. I've shared the details with her.

Thanks
