Ex 'accidentally' sending messages
TW - narcissist, PTSD, manipulation.

My ex and I were catching up about our baby who is currently unwell.

Suddenly, he 'accidentally' sends me a message saying 'Boa tarde lindo' which means good morning beautiful in portugese, then deleted it. I already saw it so I corrected his portugese just as an excuse to let him know I saw it.

Then 10 mins after our convo he proceeds to delete the messages.

He knows that I still struggle with how he treated me throughout our relationship which left me with PTSD for various reasons. His message hasnt bothered me but I do wonder if hes trying to manipulate me and plays games again?

He is very narcissistic, if not full blown NPD.
He has genuinely NEVER 'accidentally' sent me a message before which has been for someone else.

He has also been weirdly friendly and chatty, then gives me one word answers the next day.

Is he actually ok? 😂

Whether he's ok is a him-problem.
Just communicate with him through a parenting app.

TipsyJoker · 17/11/2024 17:50

Only communicate about your child. Learn to grey rock.

AmICrazyToEvenBother · 17/11/2024 17:58

You didn't need to correct him, you should've let it go and only responded about child related matters.

He's trying to reel you back in and it's obviously working, because you're posting about it.

Jyui · 17/11/2024 18:26

But you're playing games right back? If you have PSTD why aren't you avoiding this trigger?

As above, get a parenting app and some boundaries!

KitsyWitsy · 17/11/2024 18:27

You should have ignored it.

Brandyb · 17/11/2024 18:33

As above, but it was quite hilarious when you corrected his Portuguese dating language for him

DeliciousApples · 17/11/2024 18:58

Ignore and grey rock him.

Move on.
