The man who works next door to my office said that someone from my company searched for him on Linkdin. I said that it could be anyone because my company is big. Stupidly I also explained how you can find out who searched for you (it was first thing in the morning and I was clearly half asleep). Now I’m worried he will find out it was actually me who searched for him and I feel really embarrassed. I think I feel this way because I have a soft spot for him and I think I am easy to read.

I need some advice on how to pull it together and stop being nosey!
For balance, I can tell he likes talking to me too.

Whenever you look up at someone on LinkedIn the name on your profile will pop up in his search, so yes he knows it’s you. He’s trying to figure out the polite way why you’ve look him up.
