Looking up old school friends - any positive stories?

I moved away from my home town for uni and never lived there again, so as a result I lost touch and didn't see a lot of my old school friends again.

There's probably about 6-8 of them (female) who I'm connected to via Facebook/ LinkedIn etc, but haven't spoken to in over 20 years. We were good friends in 6th form and shared some good times. Many of them have also moved and live within an hour of me now though.

I don't know if I'm just having a mid (late?) life crisis, but I feel like I'd love to catch up with them again, even just once or twice.

But is that just weird? Anyone have an positive stories?

What's weird about it?

You could suggest a reunion as a group. Some of them may well be up for it.

Or you could try to arrange meeting individually.

Nothing particularly odd about trying to reconnect.

I just meant a bit weird after all this time. I guess there's no harm in reaching out, but I need to be prepared if they're not interested!

A 20 year reunion 😁

Just say you were thinking about old times and would like to catch up.

Some of them might think you're after getting them to join a MLM scheme, but I expect some will remember you fondly and be open to reconnecting.

I recently met up with someone I hadn't seen in over 10 years and it was really nice.

Never too late to at least try.

I think this is quite normal. I’m 25 years out of secondary school and groups of friends meet up from time to time to go back and visit the school or the town where we lived. I don’t think this is unusual at all unless you hated each other back then.

I think a reunion is a nice idea
