I have been seeing someone for about 6 months.
A few times now I’ve noticed he has read my message but his online presence shows the night before ? Why would that be ? I’m new to all this ! TIA

I can mark messages as read through my swipe down notifications on my phone without actually opening the whatsapp app

If you hold down your message until it's highlighted then go up to and press the 3 dots on the top right of your phone, go to and tap "info" and it shows when the message was actually read.
