Online dating picture tips!!

Hey Guys,

First post but I’ve been a reader for a long time! Sadly, my LTR (almost 10 years) ended earlier this year. We were due to get married and discussing trying for children next year. It was devastating!

I’ve done a lot of reflecting and some therapy, I’m mostly feeling more positive, and I am really coming around to the idea of seeing who is out there. I’m thinking of trying online dating just because everyone around me seems to be coupled up so there’s less of a chance of meeting people through friends now. The problem I’m drawing a blank at is photos!! I’m not a selfie person and I don’t really take or have people take pictures of me. I wouldn’t say I’m bad looking, I’m just not really a picture person.

Those of you who have in the past or currently are online dating, do you have any tips or suggestions for pictures? I’m quite outdoorsy, spend a lot of time with my pets and walking etc but half the time I look windswept rather than put together. It seems silly to get all dressed up just to take dating app pictures… Would windswept pictures work if I’m having a good time doing something I like? Are hobby pictures common or is it just full of people looking perfect?

Help me out please!
Thank you :)

Just put a clear, close & natural photo of your face, make sure you smile. And one full length if possible. Plus one doing an activity that you enjoy. Don't over think it.

You need a photo of yourself holding a big fish.
One of you in a bar with lots of mates, all wearing sunglasses.
A photo of your bike or a flash car.
And a photo of you at a wedding with a man's around you, but with the man cropped out.
These photos should ideally be about 8 - 12 years out of date.

Choose a bad picture so you look better in real life.

Windswept hobby pictures will appeal to similarly outdoorsy/creative people so I think it's a good idea to just use what you have already and see how it goes. Good luck!

You can also take a photo of yourself in a bathroom or cloakroom, and one of yourself lying on a bed seductively whilst not wearing much.

Don't overthink it, most of the men seem to just want a woman with a pulse.
I've only tried PoF. Other dating sites might be better.
