Please help feel lonely

I’m struggling to connect with people I joined a social group but they all know each other and I’m struggling to make friends I joined another group but I struggle to get a word in edge ways I feel very isolated lonely

At the moment I live with my daughter and soon to be x husband he hates me

Good on you OP for making the step of joining the social group. You are obviously the stranger as the newcomer and won't yet feel a belonging as they all know each other like you said. But I'd continue to go if you feel comfortable to do so and see how things go, given time you may slot right in and feel part of the gang. I've also felt like this at times in new social situations, even work places but I've soon felt more comfortable and a belonging.
Tbh my life circumstances have changed this past year or so as things have moved on and I'm now in your position of feeling a bit lonely and would love to meet new friends but im not really knowing where to start.

Well done as that's very brave. Please give it longer as it can take time to integrate into groups, especially established. You might become one of the faces but if not, then please try another if you're able. It is hard but you're doing your very best.
