Dating someone with an online presence

For example someone who is a social media influencer, or posts videos on YouTube that get a decent amount of views, or their income is reliant on their online image.

I feel this is probably more commonplace than it used to be, and I wonder how it may impact a relationship?

What click bait are you working for?

It would be a sure sign for me that the person involved had the likely IQ of a shoebox, and was not going to last long in my life.

This is a bit unfair. I wouldn't personally want to date an influencer but someone actually making a successful living from social media is likely to be pretty smart.

Many make a significant living from posting their content and enjoy it at the same time. If I had that option I'd choose it over a boring 9-5 any day. Sadly I'm not of that generation 😂

The ones with the low IQ are those being easily "influenced" and blindly following like sheep - in turn creating a very lucrative income for the savvy influencers (IMO).

Even the less successful influencers who are purely seeking attention/validation aren't as daft as those providing the attention/validation

As Im in my 50’s I’d think anyone in my dating pool who was an ‘influencer’ would be so far removed from my type of person, that they may as well be on Mars.

do you have a question

As someone dating in my early 40's, I couldn't think of anything worse.

It seems an incredibly boring but cut-throat and unstable way to make a life. Very stressful and I'm not sure I'd want to be with someone who had to be so involved in social media and clicks and likes (unless they were a travel/restaurant reviewer - then I'd be in! Grin)
