Hello. This is a good forum, so I thought I'd give it a go and write about what happened to me recently.
I'm a well travelled, 61 year old lady, who's done OLD before. A little too trusting but friendly and outgoing.
I met a guy my age online who ( as they often are), was fine and fun on the first date. We'd chatted for some time prior to the first date. On the second date, he came to where I live to meet me.
Tired and hot and as he admitted, having had nothing to eat after a 50 minute drive, he was looking for a free parking space in town. He's never been here before. He probably should have paid.
His frustration about the drive and parking came out in an unpleasant way on me. I was patient and tried to be understanding, but later realised I should have just left him.
He eventually calmed down and things got better. Based on his general attitude though, and some rather extreme political views, I've decided to cut ties with him. I hope this helps anyone who's a victim of what I'll call 'the second date syndrome'.
