How did you know the love had gone

Just that really, how did you know for sure, or did you not know for certain and take risk that things would work out. I’m so afraid of waking up 12 months later and feeling regret.

I just stopped caring.

He cheated a lot, lied a lot etc. Once I stopped crying and stopped caring what he was doing, I knew it was already over.

I wasted 15 years with him. If it's not working for you, then it's always okay to leave.

I looked at him - he was ranting or pontificating, I can't remember - and thought very clearly "I don't like you very much."

Love's a weird thing. I continued to feel emotionally enmeshed with him and the deluded hopes I'd had for our marriage. But after that thought presented itself, I knew the end game had started.

Honestly, I agree that if you're not feeling it you may as well start making your way towards the exit. It's really disappointing - but slogging away at a disappointment only serves to make more people unhappy for longer.

Thanks for your replies. I’m in a weird place where I do look forward to being with him, but this quickly turns to annoyance at myself for continuing to have hope, because 9/10 times he disappoints me by letting me down.
