He won’t wear a wedding ring? Says he loves you but finds the feeling of a ring on his finger uncomfortable.

Really interested to get people's opinion on this!

IMO not wearing a wedding rain could be a sign that your partner wants to cheat.

Im surprised by all of the above responses. I think it’s weird not to wear your wedding ring.

PMSL

Don't wear mine, don't see how my marital status is anyone else's business 🤷🏻‍♀️

Purplecatshopaholic · 28/07/2024 16:56

I wouldn’t wear one if he didn’t. Simple. More money for a great dress!

nextcrapthing · 28/07/2024 16:56

Tattooed a line on the ring finger. That ‘s trendy.

neilyoungismyhero · 28/07/2024 16:57

My husband didnt wear his for years due to his work situation. Changed career and subsequently lost 2 in fairly quick succession - one on the beach in the sea and the other in a transport yard. He doesn't bother now.

dudsville · 28/07/2024 16:57

Is it that you're worried that not wearing a ring will make it easier for him to cheat? If that's the case then he isn't for you.

Supermacs · 28/07/2024 16:57

If it was a case of it actually being uncomfortable or dangerous at work etc, then fair enough. If it were because he feels a man shouldnt have to signal his marital status but a woman should, then I wouldnt be marrying him!

Marchbug · 28/07/2024 16:58

I would like him to wear one, but wouldn't kick up a fuss if he didn't want to

Otherstories2002 · 28/07/2024 16:58

My Husband doesnt wear his. He has one. It really bothered him, visibly uncomfortable. So I suggested he remove it. Why would you want them to be uncomfortable? I’m fully expecting arthritic fingers one day and won’t be suffering for him.

Muffin101 · 28/07/2024 17:00

I don’t think I’d be that bothered really, personal preference 🤷🏼‍♀️
My husband doesn’t wear a wedding ring day to day as it would be unsafe in his job but he does put his wedding ring on when we go out socially. He wore it today as we were at a christening but I can’t really remember when he wore it last!

anothermnuser123 · 28/07/2024 17:02

I dont understand why whether they will wear a piece of jewellery or not would sway your opinion on marrying someone. Surely jewellery is personal preference?

If its about cheating or not, if you feel your partner needs something to stop them cheating, thats a much bigger issue than what they want to wear.

My husband has never worn one. Married 22 years.

I think its much stranger to think your partner needs to wear jewellery to prevent cheating personally.

Alicenwonderland · 28/07/2024 17:04

I've never been married but if I ever did I wouldn't be able to wear a ring, as I can't stand the feeling of rings on my hand.

nameynamenamename · 28/07/2024 17:05

I think some people need to read through the thread….I have no opinion either way, don’t distrust my partner etc just thought it would be a fun thread 🙈

Totally - DH did wear his for a long time (he also lost it for a few long periods) and now it doesn't really fit his finger. My brother never had one because he doesn't like wearing rings.

SummerSummeySun · 28/07/2024 17:07

Yes I absolutely would marry someone who said they didn't want to wear a wedding ring but I wouldn't marry someone who I was concerned may cheat on me so if the two are related in your eyes then I can see why it's a concern for you and don't marry them!

Wedding rings are just a symbol of yohr marriage it's the actual vows and commitment that matter

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 28/07/2024 17:07

I wore my wedding ring for a few months after I got married and then took it off, that was over 30 years ago. DH wore his ring on the day of the ceremony and then never again. Neither of us have ever mentioned it to the other.

There is no absolute right or wrong on this, only personal preference. If you don't want to be married to man who doesn't like wearing rings, then marry someone else. He's not wrong to have a preference, nor are you wrong to have a preference, you just wouldn't be compatible long term.

Antsinmypantsneedtodance · 28/07/2024 17:08

My DH doesn't even have a wedding ring. He knew he'd never wear one as doesnt like feeling on his fingers. So, we never even bought one. Would have been a waste of money.

Thiusands if not millions of men accross the globe have cheated. Many with wedding rings i'm sure.

Its some metal on a hand. Nothing more.

I haven't worn mine for 4 years.

InSpainTheRain · 28/07/2024 17:11

Yes, neither me (f) or DH (m) wear a wedding ring.

YouWouldntKnowWhatIMean · 28/07/2024 17:14

Yes. DH doesn't wear a wedding ring (he does have one) unless for a special occasion. I wear my rings less and less- I find jewellery increasingly agitating when I wear it; I don't know why but I can't cope with bracelets or earrings at all anymore and can just about cope with rings and bracelets (but not all day every day!). I think it's fair enough.

DPotter · 28/07/2024 17:21

Neither of us wear a wedding ring. I own an engagement ring but can't recall the last time I wore it.

onesmallstepforman · 28/07/2024 17:24

My husband and I don't wear wedding rings. Such an old and odd idea imo. By the way, I love rings, I just don't feel I need a special one to tell the world I am married. I know I am and I definitely no need reminding also.

More importantly, make sure you marry the right person, and if you consider the ring-wearing an indication for 'Mr Right' then I would seriously have a quiet chat with myself why so.

pilates · 28/07/2024 17:24

No wouldn’t bother me.
DH never had one - no big deal for me.

ToniGreen · 28/07/2024 17:27

Real men dont wear rings.

onesmallstepforman · 28/07/2024 17:28

BagJennyUp · 28/07/2024 16:34

Dh had never worn any jewellery and bought a wedding ring when I bought mine. He wanted a ring to put on as part of the ceremony and did wear it afterwards.

He said although it felt strange it was also a constant reminder of a lovely day and being happily married. He takes it off at night but puts it back on religiously after his shower. It has been 25 years.

A wedding ring in itself does not mean a man will not cheat.

If anything, it's easier for them to cheat with a wedding ring. Some women (ironically) finds it attractive and as indication of a good man.
