So today we were ment to be going to a water park and my partner calls me up at work and says he don't want to drive that far as we have to go in 2 cars and I said I couldn't afford the petrol so he sed it's fine he's paying anyway so we could still go to the one the kids wanted. He then says but I don't want to go in 2 cars all that way coz we can't share the driving And as the kids had there heart set on a certain one which was 3 hours away. We both agreed to just say we are going to a closer one. He then goes to the kids your mother don't want to put petrol in the car so we are going to a closer one of which the kids were disappointed. Am I wrong to be angry as I feel he sold me out. He should of just sed me and ya mum have decided we are going to a closer one. Because the bigger picture was he didn't want to go as he didn't want to drive all that way. I wasn't bothered by driving.

Why did you have to take two cars?

Sounds like you both made the decision so nobody is right or wrong in the initial decision - he didn’t want to drive for a 6 hour round trip for a water park (fair enough!) and you didn’t want to put a full tank of fuel in the car for a 6 hour round trip to a water park (equally fair enough!).

I do agree that blaming the other parent in front of the children so you’re not blamed for their disappointment is unacceptable though. They ought to have just been told that the plan had changed and, if asked, given both (reasonable) reasons and that’s it.

3 hours to a water park for the day is mad.
