Yes and no. I guess it depends on what has happened, what you’re willing to put up with and if they are making a conscious effort to change.

And if you're asking how you know if someone is rotten or not - rotten people might do decent things, but decent people don't tend to do rotten things.

So if you're seeing a pattern of nasty/cruel/inappropriate behaviours, no, this person will never change.

Of course people change. Sometimes it just needs a situation to change, other times it’s growing up or maturity and you also have people that realise they are not happy being who they are. There are many people who beat addiction - davina McCall for example was a heroin user.

I have changed as a person over the years.
