Ex wants access to children on weekends only BUT the children (age 8, 10) are to be separated and for the children to spend less time with each other.

What type of person does this? Why would anyone do this?

background: He's on supervised access for past 1.5 years and now wants unsupervised overnight access. Last time he had them he took them he cut off all contact and I had to go to court to get them back.

Someone so stupid they think 50:50 means you get one each? Like dividing goods and chattels. Is that the cunning plan they're working to acheive?

WednesdysChild · 17/07/2024 09:32

does he have to take you back to court to get unsupervised overnight access? I can’t understand what judge would agree to this; why is it in children’s best interest to be separated?

have you tried saying, “no, that won’t work for the kids or for me.”

So does he want one child one weekend then the other child the following weekend? Is this to prevent you from having childfree time or is there another motive.
Given that he had supervised access there must be some background on this - is the weekend contact court ordered? If not I would say that the current arrangement is working fine and don't let him dictate.

Just say no.

InvestinITMN · 17/07/2024 09:46

you mean to say he refused to return children to you until you went to court?

jeaux90 · 17/07/2024 11:15

So the court order is still supervised contact?

Just say no to his stupid demands he can go back to court for any changes.
