Feeling numb after lovely date

I went on a first date today. He was lovely and attractive. Kind, respectful, smart. I think I fancied him.

My most recent ex hurt me so badly, I can't feel anything. I wasn't excited about meeting this guy today or about a potential second date. I'm numb.

What do I do? I feel so empty.

I went on a date with a great guy after leaving a marriage following life-changing and traumatic events. My trust had been annihilated.
This guy was trustworthy, kind, warm and caring. The genuine article. Never met a man like it.
I didn't "buy" it and after the date I immediately friendzoned him. I was polite but it was a firm no to any romantic relationship.
Few weeks' on and he was working nearby so he asked me if I fancied a coffee.
Agreed but more out of politeness than anything to be perfectly honest.
Ended up marrying him! He's now also a daddy (first and last time!) ❤️ Love him sooooooooooooooo much.
I was so scared to love again I guess.

@Hellodarknessmyfriend ah that's lovely. Glad it all worked out in the end.
