Why are some people so unfriendly?

I started a new hobby last week and tried speaking to one of the other women there and she virtually blanked me. Why are some people so unfriendly?

A bit generic as it was one person and I don’t know what the hobby is or what you were trying to talk about but I get what you mean.
She might just be introverted. It might be a hobby where lots of new people come and then go quickly so she can’t be bothered or there is a group of “regulars”.
I'm highly sociable and talk to anyone and everyone. It is not always reciprocated and that’s fine. Have a nice day. Don’t take it personally.

It's hard to understand. I get that some people don't like people but then why choose to go somewhere where you're around people?

Maybe just shy, deaf, having a bad day.. maybe you remind her of the woman that ran off with her first husband.. who knows? Smile, wave and try with someone else. You can’t win them all.
