Someone im close to has the most severe depression and they are looking into mood disorders too. Hes made alot of mistakes in his life and whilst he has worked hard and earned well he has never been able to cope. He usually relies on his partners to do the bills etc and whilst hes contributed hes also blown his money.
Due to various issues in his life i wont go into unless asked hes used substances to cope. He is really miserable. He is 7 years sober from alcohol but hes slipped into a drug habbit. He wrongly sold a tool of the work van last year but has stuck to denying it. The men he worked with at the time started on him. Its all been quiet for 8 months. Hes been living in his flat barely surviving. His daughters have started speaking to him again which has been so nice to see. Hes done my garden for me. He is a very covert user so he can be around me for 2 or 3 days and theres 100% no drugs involved. Hes kind and helpful. But i know when he has money he gets back into it.

This week hes not been himself. Hes just called me to say he was out walking to get food and 2 of his ex work mates got out of a van to try get him then followed him. He said 2 cars were waiting at his flat he had to run away.

I dont know what to do but i feel quite stressed. Im posting for support i guess.

He might be lovely underneath his addiction but it's not your job to fix him, nor can you help him unless he wants to turn it around and get clean.

Tell him to dial 999 if he feels in danger
