Book recommendations

Hi everyone.
I am a 50 year old woman who witnessed domestic violence daily as a child. I now realise how much this has affected my life and I need some help.
I’m looking for recommendations for good self help books or insightful books into situations like my own.
A google search has me baffled and I don’t want to waste time on books full or jargon or wishy-washy talk.
All recommendations would be gratefully welcomed!

You could try 'the boy who was raised by dogs' It's a psychology book, not a self help. But it's very insightful.

Hi OP, this is only a tangential suggestion for a self help book - it’s not specifically trauma related - but I found Harriet Lerner’s “The Dance of Anger” very helpful for handling difficult feelings and experiences.

Pete Walker's book CPTSD: From Surviving to Thriving was by far the best book on childhood trauma that I have ever read:
