To take my boyfriends dog

dogoverman · 05/05/2024 19:10

I have just found out my boyfriend has hit his dog and I am disgusted

She is a lovely thing, and he hit her for eating something she shouldn't have

I want to take her for good but I live in a flat although I am planning to move this year

She would have a good life with me I think despite living in a flat I can afford doggy day care when I am working and I work from home three days a week and live in a nice rural area

I do love a happy ending!

Whatever you do, DON’T say that they next time you go to a spa for a massage! 😂

I am so in love with my dog

She has soft play booked and a trip to the swimming pool this week and we are visiting a dog cafe

Honestly it's given me a new lease of life

Dump the man and keep the dog

Did he update her microchip registration? Look into getting that done asap.

This is a really important point OP. If the dog gets lost they will contact your ex if you haven't updated the chip details.

He should have the documents from when the chip was inserted which he needs to complete and submit for ownership to be transferred to you.

ActivePeony · 29/06/2024 17:42

I am thrilled for you both. She must be so happy and you sound like you are besotted. Dogs are just the best.

So pleased to read this update!

Please post a photo OP!

Presumably you are dumping him. Take the dog and if he says you stole it, you say that's rubbish and it was your dog. And he's upset that you've left him because he was violent to the dog. Police will not want to get involved in a domestic over dog ownership.

Opentooffers · 29/06/2024 17:55

Lol I get it, I realised I prefered spending time with my dog than my BF years ago, so ditched the BF after 3 years together. I love my pooch to bits, we go to loads of places together.

SkylarkDay · 29/06/2024 18:02

Once you have a dog in your life, you don’t need much more. Best company you can get. I recently had to say goodbye to my very elderly two but we had fabulous days out together. Just need a bit of a break to get over them, but planning on two more later this year.

This. In spades. Mine died just over a year ago, but he was just the best dog. My circumstances at the moment mean I can't have another, but it's top of the list when I can. Having a dog is so much better and rewarding than being with a bloke. Well done for rescuing her.

80sbornNortherner · 29/06/2024 18:14

Why is he your boyfriend if he does this to the dog? I'm pleased that the dog is well though.

dogoverman · 29/06/2024 18:28

@80sbornNortherner he isn't we broke up and I kept the dog 😊

Best decision ever, she is completely and utterly indulged and I have become slightly anti social but my goodness she is worth every penny I spend on her

I cook her a special mix for her kibble, she has a really lovely dog sitter and we plan lots of adventures together

Thankfully she has slotted in to my life rather well, I am getting fitter and losing weight

To be honest I think he was pleased to see the back of her and that I was willing to have her
