Husbands Depression

Looking for some positive stories on peoples partners depression fog lifting.

My husband has been struggling for over a year, has been in cbt therapy for 4 months (no medication, its not his thing) and is really trying, but he is not happy, cant feel any joy and has such grey/low mood days.

He loves me and the kids but has 'the depression fallout' so its hard to not take it personally. Really tough times, so any positive stories on when and how long the fog lifts would be greatly appreciated.

His therapist also mentioned there are signs of ADHD.

OP has he been able to pinpoint what has caused his low mood or depression? Is he working? Has anything changed that has caused his low mood?

ADHD can trigger a burnout, which comes across as depression, or may even trigger depression.

I have been there many times throughout my lifetime, ( also AuHD).

Antidepressants may not work for?, or work differently in those with ADHD autism, at least I was told by my Dr who decided against it back in the day.

Then I got diagnosed during councelling. It made such difference with the diagnosis as I was able to understand why I was reacting differently to things others seemed to fly through, and why I was struggling, and why I kept having burnout.

Since the diagnosis my low mood does happen but I never stay there for long as I understand my triggers better.

You sound lovely and clearly care for your partner. Its hard to see a loved one just go through life in that depressive limbo so remember to look after you as well.
