Age on OLD site

So I’ve reactivated my OLD profile and been chatting to a few lovely ladies.

Ive arranged a meet with someone and I’ve noticed my profile has me a few years (4) younger than i actually am. I can’t change it without going through customer support which I’ll do.

Im now worried. Should I fess up now before the meeting, say something when I’m there or wait and see how things go? 😬

just to add this is a genuine error on my part not a deliberate thing which I feel quite bad about as my profile lists honestly as my main priority!!!

Yes I’d tell her before you meet. Personally if I found out someone lied about their age and didn’t admit it straightaway, it would be a deal breaker.

StarsBeneathMyFeet · 25/04/2024 17:22

Can you add it in to your profile as well? I’ve seen edits where someone says ‘Profile says I’m 42 but I’m actually 45. Getting it changed ASAP’ type thing. But if you’re messaging someone I’d drop it in to conversation.

Yes tell her or she will wondering what else isn't true .

HopeFloatsAbove · 25/04/2024 17:41

You an just mention the age in your bio OP. And yes tell her.

ShinyEspeon · 25/04/2024 17:44

Seems to happen to an awful lot of men people doesn't it. And so rarely to make them look older! What a funny thing...

HelenHywater · 25/04/2024 17:44

I'm always sceptical of those men that put one age in the title then another in the bio with some comment like "age wrong, but wouldn't let me change it".

(There are so few men who put their real age in!).

To answer your question though OP, yes, tell her your real age before you see her.

SummersSoon · 25/04/2024 17:49

I've seen men do this in the past saying exactly the same thing "it was a mistake" oops. It's so off putting. Feels like you are trying to trick a woman. They then whined about nobody looking at their profile because of their age, so they had to do it. Women have a right to decide what their cut-off point is with regards to a potential partner's age. Men don't seem to like this idea. You should absolutely tell your date, then it's her decision not yours. But if I were her, I'd be wondering what else you've accidentally got wrong.

Lookingforunicorns · 25/04/2024 18:47

Tell her now.
When doing OLD any man's profile that suggests they made a 'mistake' with his age (For example:" I'm actually 56 not 48 but now I can't change it") got a swipe left straight away.
But now I've just given up on OLD.

beachguy · 25/04/2024 18:52

Just read online that 81% of people lie about their age/weight or height!

Ive taken my profile down until admin can fix it. Can’t believe I missed it , my daughter pointed it out!! How embarrassing. 😒

They seem to get confused about their height as well and their wife

Funny how no man has ever said on his profile he’s older and shorter than he really is 🤷‍♀️

I’ve called men out on dates when they’ve obviously knocked off a few years/ added a few inches - always the same story- it was an accidental error hmmm

Spratt · 25/04/2024 19:18

Umm, just delete the profile and start again. I would find someone that can’t accurately complete a simple online form a nonstarter.

Or they get confused over inches and centimetres 😁
