Going from loving.... to desperately hating a partner

I know there will be a resounding 'I've not looked back' or 'best thing I ever did' number of comments... however is there anyone else out there, like me, who sometimes can't fathom how they went from loving their partner/ex husband and sharing a life and children together to hating the ground they walk on?

I'm divorced and have been for a number of years. Divorce ended over OW who he left me for. I don't think the venom he feels towards me has dissipated either.

Men like that just create fantasies for themselves to justify their shitty behaviour. It stops them having to confront themselves because it’s easier to believe a lie. For example, he’s convinced himself you’re evil because it means he can sleep better at night despite the face he’s a lying, stinking, scummy dog.

People like that are unhinged and yes, you are best off out of it. Live your life, be happy and show that they don’t bother you and you’re happier without them. It’s the best revenge (and it’s really really something the hate to see because they want you broken and begging and they get cheesed off when you just don’t care).

Love and hate come from the same brain region. They are both powerful emotions, which means a person feels strongly about someone/something.

Honestly, the OW and your ex deserve each other. I bet anything, she's a downgrade. No self-respecting person sleeps with a person who is knowingly spoken for, or with another when they know they are being used as a pawn.

You are allowed to hate your ex, but don't let it consume you. I've long got over the resentment I had towards EA ex. Time and circumstance can do that, though not for everyone.
