DP has always had younger partners

Just that. Not ridiculously younger but a pattern.

He's a year older than me. All his previous long term partners (x4) have been up to ten years younger. Most of them about 7-8 years. This started in his 20s (so 20 and 27) and has been a pattern up now (30 years later).

Worries me. I think because I feel he might prefer someone younger (so insecurity, I'm late 50s) but also, I wonder why? Does it say something about him. I mean they're not 15-20 years younger, but none have been the same age or older.

He says it's not a preference at all, simply circumstances and who he met (mostly at work). Most relationships have lasted 4-7 years. Range of reasons for split. None particularly worrying.

How would you feel?

Wouldn't be an issue for me. All my partners have been at least 5 years older than me, they were just guys I met, I didn't seek them out

Wouldn’t bother me in the slightest.

the younger partners hasnt worked out for him so far has it?

Maybe he’s not seeking out a set age gap. Maybe he’s just attracted to personalities of other humans?

My last parter was 4 years younger than me. Current one is 14 years older. I’ve also had relationships with someone 12 years younger and everything inbetween.

it’s a personality I want. Not a set age gap.

Yes I agree about personality and if it had been just one or two that were younger I wouldn't give it a second thought.

I suppose it is just that it's been ALL of them, and all a similar age gap. Makes me wonder if it was a preference as opposed to coincidence. Perhaps I am overthinking it?

My DH has always gone out with older women 10 years older usually. I’m only 2 years older, I’ve never thought anything about it. He wasn’t with them for age but they always had mutual hobbies and interests.
