I've been daring a guy for 7 months. After a few weeks of building frustrations (mainly over communication) I ended it today by text. I was careful to be clear but not harsh, and said "we" rather than "you" in terms of what wasn't working and thanked him for the enjoyable.times we'd had.
Oh my goodness. Got 2 massive diatribes that went out of their way to be hurtful and nasty, quite literally blaming me for everything. Then tried to act like he was dumping me?! Honestly it was the type of text a 24 year old might send, not a 40 year old man.
I've ignored both (silence says 1000 words right?) But I'm upset and hurt by the lashing out. My friend reckons he'll come creeping soon but I'm confident he won't.
The thought of going back to the world of online dating makes my heart sink but I'm 34 and cant afford to waste time. Any supportive advice wise mumsnetters?
