When I was panicking about exams....
Aslong as you can say hand on heart you did your best then that's all I can ask for and that makes me proud

When I graduated she said 'thank you for proving that I (as in my mum) has succeeded

When I was having a life crisis
I don't care if you fail, succeed, win or lose do it with class and know you can walk with your head held high

When I asked to come home after dumping my abusive ex she told me
It took a hell of a lot of courage to live through that but a hell of a lot more to leave

Well I dont know any exact words, but my long gone parents look out of a photo on my wall at me, and I feel cherished and cared for.

My mum taught me from a young age to be independent and what others think of you is none of your business. It's helped a lot over the years.

When close to death, she told me she'd seen the light and cut my (horrible) stepfather out of her will, and I'd get the lot and not have to administer a trust for his benefit until he died.

No but I’ve been given lots of useful advice over the years from others that has helped me enormously. I try to listen closely to what people say now even if I don’t immediately agree with it.
