My husband and I have separated. This is not something I want or saw coming. We have agreed to try and rekindle our connection.
Everyone I have spoken to have been so negative about it and says that I shouldn't try. It's not worth it, I should just move on.
Please tell me some positive outcomes and what helped you rekindle your marriage! We've been together 14 years. I can't just throw it away without trying!! I love him and miss him so much!!
Thanks

Why do all your friends/family (I presume) all say not to bother?

That seems unusual. Do they perhaps see that he was bad for you?

Ask the people you really value and you know have your back to tell you why they think this with full honesty.

PS Sunk costs fallacy. You don’t have to stay because you already put a lot of years in. I know people who separated after 40 years and both much happier.

I personally know two couples who divorced then remarried years later - so it can rekindle- but enough time had passed for the cause of their initial separation to seem trivial compared with the strength of the relationship.

We briefly separated, another person was involved....

In some ways, things are better than ever as we really appreciate each other and are both more considerate that the other is happy.

It is hard work though. We realised we'd just lost our way a little. The things we loved doing together had petered out, the "fun" stuff was missing.

Its been worth it for us, and I wish you good luck with it!

My family and friends are just trying to protect my heart! They don't want to see me try for it not to work! Some of my friends are also very we don't need a man, we are better of without them they are just an extra child haha!

He left as he felt he didn't love me anymore. We have grown apart. There is no bitterness and no bad reason for the separation!

I agree we've grown apart but I believe that's due to us not giving each other the time and attention! We got into a rut of working, housework and not having money to do things. We have a very fast growing preteen who takes all our time and money and I feel we neglected our relationship. His work schedule isn't always the best and it can be very negative. He works for the ambulance service as you can imagine his seen some horrible things! His quite new to this and I don't feel it's helped.

I want to work on this! His willing to try but I don't feel his all in at the moment! We have game days and they are really lovely! We have such a lovely time but our child is always present which we love but I feel we need alone time which is difficult as his only coming over once or twice a week and I don't want to take that time away from our child as she is struggling with him being moved out.
