6 months ago a rude 'friend' tried to gaslight me and accuse me of something because I would not as she says 'reprimand' people as she did not agree with their views. There was 3 of us in the chat and I left as it was clear this 'friend' tries to make others look bad. The other people in question were not in the chat.

The other guy who was in the chat has told me boyfriend a few times since that he feels bad as though he has upset me. I dropped him a message to explain about her inappropriate behaviour and said he has not caused any offence. I did this as I did not want him thinking he had upset me. Though he could have stepped in and not allowed her to make up those disgusting remarks than just sit back and see it all.

He read my message and did not respond. Now he probably he does not want to get involved but why could he have just not said thank you for explaining. This happened with another friend, I sent a personal message they read it and did not reply. It seems they don't want to get involved but why waste my time explaining things if no acknowledgment. The guy has been online and commented a couple of times on a mutual friend's post since reading my message.

I wouldn't worry about this. Why did he tell your bf and not tell you?

Sometimes no response is a response, and you should quit worrying about it

Sometimes if you haven't got anything to say it's easier just not to reply.
It's likely they thought "oh that explains it then" which doesn't really warrant a "thank you" in reply.

Also, maybe he feels uncomfortable that your bf has obviously been talking to you about him. He didn't exactly approach you directly did he.
