Friends who don't respond

I am friends with a couple. They have a leasehold property with my housing association. They complain the housing does not resolve their issues. They do not take action to complain or speak to a manager yet moan about the issues when we all go out for a meal.

I sent them details of a leaseholder event where they can go and talk to someone at our office, it was publicly advertised on the website so anyone would have seen it and it is not a conflict of interest. I told them because I don't want them telling me their business as I don't want to get involved. The guy and woman both read my message but did not reply back thanking me or ask how I was. Wish I didn't bother.

Why is it so hard to find decent friends who reciprocate. They have a habit of not replying at times. They don't really have any friends.

I'd keep my distance from them and not be so responsive next time. You've done them a kindness, made them aware of this event in advance, they've shown "gratitude" in their own way. They sound like a couple of classic users. Anyone who's not even asking about you or how you've been doing isn't your friend at all.

And I agree, it's very hard to come across the real thing nowadays. Perhaps the most solid friendships are those forged during childhood.

Finding people flaky op these days. As you say nobody gets back to you.

Thank you for you replies. It is disappointing they have behaved this way.
