Dating a UK woman

So I’m just a foreigner (a Finn) lurking on Mumsnet and a man (gosh, who would’ve thought?) soon-to-be in my mid-twenties.

Okay, to cut to the chase I’ve had recurring thoughts about visiting the UK someday (I’ve got an interest in the region, yet I’m not a full-blown Anglophile) not sure about permanently settling there (tentative answer, perhaps I’ll change my mind in the future).

I get butterflies in my stomach if I hear Englishwomen say things like ”Lovely!” or ”My Love!” etc. it’s just.. gosh, I can’t describe it. Not sure when I began feeling this way about the women of the UK. But yeah, I’d like to get to know one (if & when I’ll travel to the UK for the first time) then we’d begin to date and if it were to bear fruit, later build a happy family together.

I guess my question would be about cultural differences (esp. dating and relationships) in the UK (versus Finland) and what to expect. And no, I totally didn’t develop my perception of the UK from shows like Eastenders.. (lol).

You’re overthinking this. You're imagining what ifs & a family about a country you’ve never visited.

usually how it goes is, You meet someone OLD , or work or socially. You date. You talk about films, books, music, see if you click. A cute accent isn’t enough to cement a relationship.

Regards Uk depends where you live but in London, woman may be English? Maybe not…maybe Scottish or Welsh?
