Have you ever taken a break from a relationship?

What happened? Did you end up breaking up or did you get back together and have a successful relationship?

I've never done it. Personally I think you should break up or work on it. Having breaks seems like an excuse to sow oats. Boak.

I think anyone having a break though should most definitely try and avoid a Ross and Rachel scenario and communicate affectively about expectations for what the break involves. For example; are you allowed to see other people? What are you doing to fix what's wrong while on the break? etc.

Yes. We ended up breaking up for good after getting back together.

Yes, unintentionally as it was when COVID started and he had to care for his disabled dad so moved in there. We were in a really bad place before hand and I was considering ending things. We didn't see each other for a year but honestly it was the best thing to happen to us.

Yes we missed each other terribly got counselling and back together it's far from perfect but we're jogging along well
