Ridiculous I know, but those of you happily married, are your star signs compatible?

Reason I'm asking is that although it is all possibly a load of rubbish, I am intrigued by the number of couples I know who are still together years after meeting, and have the 'right' signs ie leo and sagittarius, virgo/taurus, stuff like that.

I'd be interested to know if this is actually something I'm imagining or if it really does seem to have a bearing.

takes aim...

no.

exdh and I had "compatible" star signs and he walked out when I was 5 months pg with dd1.

dp and I have completely "wrong" signs and we appear to be stuck together

Fillyjonk · 24/03/2008 07:55

rofl at this thread

I have NO idea what signs are compatible with mine

I am a virgo, as is dp and ds

dd1 is cancer

dd2-am not sure actually. She was born on feb 11th-is that aquarius?

Flight · 24/03/2008 07:55

Oh that's nice, the link...

Ok, theory disproved, I don't need any more answers!!!

What are you Squonky? And what is he?

I'm a virgo bt and all my failed relationships have been leos.

Flight · 24/03/2008 07:56

Filly!!!! Two virgos is as perfect as you can get according to the books!

Yes, aquarius is right.

OP posts:
fryalot · 24/03/2008 07:57

I am a cancer
dp is a taurus

exh was a pisces

(although am not a believer, so you're probably going to tell me that dp and I are compatible, and exh has the worst sign for mine, aren't you?)

filly - yes, I think Feb 11th would be aquarius

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 24/03/2008 07:59

I am gemini, DH is Leo, no idea.

Flight · 24/03/2008 07:59

Well, Cancer/pisces is two water signs and should in theory work out, unless you have a mischievous aspect in your rising signs or something...which I'm guessing you did

Cancer taurus is also well thought of.

So sort of yes.

OP posts:
fryalot · 24/03/2008 08:00

are you looking all this up? Or do you know it?

Flight · 24/03/2008 08:00

I know it so far Sq.

Might have to get my book out in a minute though. Can't remember the leo/gem bit!

She is a 1970s book, she is very good

OP posts:
Flight · 24/03/2008 08:02

{having looked up every bloke I've ever had a crush on, it isn't hard to learn)

OP posts:
Fillyjonk · 24/03/2008 08:02

embarassingly, I used to actually do horoscopes for money

this jaded me a little...

Flight · 24/03/2008 08:04

Really? did you used to have a little headscarf and gold earrings?

OP posts:
eandh · 24/03/2008 08:04

I'm not sure if we are compatable signs but

I'm an aires (and very typical one as well )

DH is a Libra (and also has very librian traits - indecisive, laid back etc)

DD1 is a virgo (as is my Mum and they have very similar personalities)

DD2 is a capricorn and I since I have had her I've yet to read what they are meant to be like

Flight · 24/03/2008 08:06

Aries libra is interesting, not sure what it means, but your children ought to get on in a deep seated sort of way - both earth signs. If it were a couple they would be supposed to be 'made for each other'.
I am still hunting down a capricorn to marry!

OP posts:
Flight · 24/03/2008 08:06

Filly can probably tell you more than me!!

fireflytoo · 24/03/2008 08:06

I am Aquarian and XH was Libran, supposedly the best combination in the zodiac... he is my x now, but I must say we do still get on very well. Am now with a Capricorn which is not supposed to work at all, but seems ok...

Something i was told once: the mistake people make when they look at these things, is that they only take into account the position of the sun in their charts and seeing as I am supposed to have 4 planets with the sun I am not even a typical Aquarian... for what it's worth

eandh · 24/03/2008 08:14

Just out of curiousty looked it up on net and found this - describes us spookily accurately!

Oh and dd1&dd2 do get on really well (only 3.6 and 14months though ) and they miss each other badly when not together

Aries + Libra

Fire + Air = Hot Air

The air sign of Libra is the opposite sign to yours, Aries. Some astrologers believe that this is a very good combination ? following the old maxim that ?opposites attract?. Well, this is only partly true. It requires closer study.

One of the important contrasts between Libra and Aries is that Libra isn?t as decisive as you. Coming to a decision is like a roller-coaster ride for them. You, on the other hand, aren?t afraid to jump to a conclusion, even if it means making the odd error of judgment. Libra hates to be wrong, but not for the same reason as Aries. You have a strong ego; they just can?t make up their minds!

Libra likes to see things from lots of different perspectives, and will often drive you crazy by arguing ten sides in a discussion. Are they with or against you? Aaargh! You?re not like this at all. You?re quick off the mark about making decisions, and about making your views known.

If you are to work well together, Libra would need to know that you are sympathetic to their broader perspectives. Unfortunately, this will be a rather difficult concession for you to make.

You are both very sociable, but again, you have differnet styles. Libra needs to explore conversations and personalities deeply, whereas you prefer to skim the surface and then move on to new conquests and experiences.

Fire and air do have some compatible components, however. If you take your time with Libra, you will bring out elements in their personality which will fascinate you. But this will happen only if you make the time. Libra will in turn light up your fire. It will take time to tell whether or not a relationship between you is a success ? it will depend on the pace of the relationship and the level of comfort between you.

In the bedroom, your energies will create an exciting union. Your emotional and sexual rapport will be strong, and your initial meeting could spark an instinctive sexual attraction. Overall, Libra will inflame your sexual fire because of its air-like nature; it will also have a gradually refining influence on you.

You?ll be mesmerised by those born in the period between 23 September and 3 October, and your initial friendship can transform itself into deeper love bonds. Your ruling planets are extremely well matched.

A unique friendship could develop with someone born between 4 October and 13 October. A sense of duty may undermine the relationship at some stage, though. If this relationship is going to work, the feelings between you must be completely transparent. This will be the foundation of your connection.

Libran people born between 14 October and 23 October have an uphill battle keeping their day-to-day affairs grounded. Mercury?s flightiness is very evident in them, and this could drive you to distraction.

horsish · 24/03/2008 10:58

yes, it's ridiculous

saltire · 24/03/2008 11:10

Well I am Libra and DH is Pisces, which are supposed to be 2 of the most incompatible signs in teh zodiac. been married 15 years this year!

DS1 is an Aquarius and Ds2 is capricorn

cremolafoam · 24/03/2008 11:13

I'm Leo and he's Aquarius
polar opposites
but
when it's good it's really good
when it's bad I just want to stab him with a fork

sorkycake · 24/03/2008 11:13

aries and cancer, all loved up atm.

owever, he is as stubborn as a mule, quietly ambitious, ruthlessly selfish (outside home) & always believes he is right, and hehas a sulky bad temper to boot, but he is fantastically passionate

I'm too emotional for my own good sometimes, very family orientated, love being in love, generally easy going towards him (not to anyone else tho') very intuitive & am frequently right.

Cue fireworks about 3 times a year when I've had enough.

KatyMac · 24/03/2008 11:14

My dad is Pisces & my mum is Leo (42yrs & counting)
My Grandad was Pisces & Grandma was Virgo (60 yrs plus)
I am Taurus & DH is Virgo (14yrs & we'll see )

Who knows if they are compatible?

sorkycake · 24/03/2008 11:15

where do you go to get a detailed reading I'd be up for that. you know the ones where they say something is in ascendant, blah, jupiter on a cusp of the dark side, etc?
