How often do you have sex when you have a little one?

I have had a hard time to get in the mood since becoming pregnant my DD is just over a year old and I can probably count how many times DH and I have had sex. I feel a lot of guilt but just so exhausted and he’s not actively trying so it prob happens about once a month. Is this normal or are we doomed?

I’m guessing it was “how often do you have sex with little ones” before? 😬 really didn’t think that through if it was! Can’t say the edit is much better either 🫣

From what I've seen off mumsnet, men who go off sex with their partner during pregnancy have ongoing issues after pregnancy where they just see a 'mother', so it's off-putting. Women going off sex? Not sure, could be a similar effect after birth, I mean if either sex see 'mother' as main function, I guess it could put both off ( though I loved pregnancy sex, somehow whole body was more erogenous, go figure). After baby, deffo less often as tired and breasts become feeding machines and so it's hard to switch the mind to use them in another way - bit of a no go area sexually until breastfeeding over.
Why go off sex during pregnancy? Is it hormones or psychology?

You'd have better chance asking a men's forum with the current title 😂

My sex drive was pretty much none existent the whole time I was breastfeeding (which was a long time) but we had sex about every other week. Although sometimes less. We went through a bad patch when 2nd was young where we had sex a handful of times in a year and eventually it caused a big issue. Since then I tried to just have sex atleast every other week but tried for once a week. Didn't particularly want to much, but just did it anyway until youngest was about 3 and stopped nursing and then my sex drive came back massively and we have sex between 1 and 3 times a week.

I think it's normal for your sex drive to vanish at this time but also it's something worth trying to address as a lack of intimacy can for many monogamous couples create a whole lot of problems
