Quick background.. together for 30 years with DH, kids flying the nest. Our relationship has never been that great, basically not liking similar things lack of consideration..etc etc. I could go on but I won't. To cut to the chase he is always complaining that I nag him and that if I can't be happy with him he will leave me so I can find that perfect Man. Well he came home the other night to a divorce petition. The only thing now is I'm not sure I've done the right thing.

So what has he said? Is he shocked? Upset?

When you look at the last 30 rather unsatisfactory years, and then project them forward to the next 30 into your old age does it make you feel empty inside.

you don’t have to find ‘That Perfect Man’, you just have to find a situation that’s better than living with him- which could well be living alone, for a period of time anyway.

If the rest of your life was in a relationship with the same dynamic as currently would you regret it? Sounds like it.
I’m not saying LTB or that you should/shouldn’t split, but something drastic has to change. How did he react.
