Not sure whether to post in Relationships or elsewhere - please let me know if there might be a better place.
Has anyone ever hired a PI for the purpose of catching a cheating spouse? What did they do for you?
I have strong suspicions my husband has cheated. I know her name and contact details. I don’t think they meet regularly and I don’t think it’s much more than sex - what could a PI find? Would they only be able to watch him? Or could they search mobile phone history/ see if he’s called her? Or look at his emails?

Yeah, probably not those guys. If they were any good, they wouldn't need to spam the Web.

Honestly if you’ve gotten to the point where you want to hire a PI then you already know the truth.

no point delaying the inevitable, you don’t trust him. The truth will out eventually

why do you need anymore information. The trust in him is gone from this relationship. Move on.

Friend of mine hired a really basic PI who was new at the job and clueless. Apparently he was found under a restaurant table holding his dictaphone whilst smoking a cigar

One of the things that always pissed me off with a cheating spouse was being made to think I'm going mad, paranoid etc. So I bought a tracker that came with a sim from safetagtacking.com. Yes, it was illegal and the minute I had confirmation, I took it off. But I caught him red-handed and I was willing to take a risk of breaking the law to have my sanity back.

FenceBooksCycle · 08/12/2025 07:15

The thing is that if you have got to the point of hiring a PI the relationship is dead anyway. If he is innocent then the action of hiring a PI is as much a betrayal as having an affair. It doesn't have to be anyone's "fault" so you don't need proof. It's over. Save your money.

Spooky2000 · 08/12/2025 07:19

Sorry, misspelled - should be safetagtracking.com

So yeah! It helped me get my sanity back and I binned him off.
It was worth if for my money - about £60, I think it was, POS that he is.

I had the tech-savvy teenagers link his Whatsapp to an iPad - and I could see all his messages. As long as you don't open what has not already been opened, you will be in the clear.

How do you really know she isn’t still communicating with him? It’s possible she’s using something you’re unaware of, and the situation does raise some red flags. She wasn’t honest with you about him before, and that’s something that should’ve been addressed long before marriage. Try to talk to her directly—approach her with any factual inconsistencies you’ve noticed and see how she responds. If you feel you need outside support, you could look into a professional and legally operating infidelity investigation service, such as { spymastersreal dot com , to help you get clarity without crossing any legal lines. Sometimes having verified information can make it easier to finally resolve the issue.
