He met someone new: need a handhold

I met a guy a few years ago and we were both really interested in each other, but along the line, he changed his mind about me. I have my theory but he has his excuses. We stayed friends. He just told me he has a new partner and they're serious. I'm heartbroken. I haven't loved anyone in a long time the way that I love him, even after he decided to put a stop to our relationship.
I just need a handhold. I'm happy for him, but heartbroken.

Sorry to hear you are hurting. I think if one person still has feelings, staying friends is not a good idea. You need complete separation in order to move on and keep the door open to other people.

Oh dear. This is why it’s always a really bad idea to “stay friends” with an ex you still have feelings for. You’re just hanging around waiting for them to realise what a Big Mistake they made in letting you go.

My advice is to only stay friends with an ex if you can honestly be happy for them when they find someone new and can meet them cheerfully with any new dates.

All you can do now is distance yourself as anything else is just self harming.

You will get over this, but only if you stay away from him 💐

Thank you; I've stayed away from him for sometime now, but my heart is still with him.
I'm hurting because he found someone who he found worthy of giving himself to. He said it in a roundabout way. I wish someone would see all the love I have to give 😢

That’s the point though. I am not sure you do have much love to give if you’re still hung up on the ex. 😢

Give it time and you’ll wonder what you ever saw in him
