Bad texter?

My Best friend who I’ve known for years has gone on a date today with a guy she matched on hinge. She texted me after saying she got a second date I was really excited for her, but she said he’s an awful texter and leaves hours between replies but he owns a business and she said she really enjoyed the date with him generally. Me and her both had our separations at similar times but my way of dating is really different.

I said personally it wouldn’t work for me because I like to text regularly through the day. Not all the time but I don’t enjoy 9/10 hours between responses. i also said in the getting to know each other stage it makes it more difficult. She said he said phone calls are easier for him but she isn’t the biggest fan early on of calls bc of awkward silences. But again I told her that’s my view and if she likes him she needs to go with that and let the texting just be a minor issue for now. She’s so happy ans it’s so nice to see. Even just after one date.

I said to her go on the second date. See what the vibe is. Go from there. She does really like him. I told her not to blow it off just yet as she nearly did in the early stages because of the bad texting. Is that fair advice

Communication is vital to me but I would accept that people are busy especially during the working week and would never expect someone to message while we’re both working. In fact I’d find it off putting if someone was texting me all day while I’m working.

If she was my friend I’d be telling her to go on another date and go with the real life communication to see how the vibe is. Much easier to see whether there’s a connection face to face.

I don’t care about the frequency of texting. It has very little relevance on the long run. As I find that the men who text the most are the biggest time wasters.

The important thing is does he want to meet up weekly for starters. That’s the real question, as nothing will develop if that isn’t happening. Texting is the tool that men use to string women along.

Texting has no relevance to the man. I've met brilliant men who can't stand it, and sleazy narcs who text constantly.
To not give him a chance because he's not in contact all day? Now that is being fussy and could spoil chances of finding someone genuine.
