Pretty much just that.

I am a middle aged old hag that lives alone and love it.

I have just come in from walking in the snow, and its beautiful out but cold.

I am wondering what others are up to across the sea from me and raising a glass, cheers

I'm on night 3 of a hospital stay with my daughter, suspected brain tumour.

Sorry to be that person 😔

However, she's in good spirits, has had lots of loved ones fussing over her, and is thankful for the NHS. She's had 2 MRI scans, extensive blood work, and so many nurses, HCA's, and Dr's really looking after her. We are very thankful. I'm about to go to the parents' kitchen and make a hot chocolate to drink on my pullout trolley bed - best life! 😁

3rd night shift in a row, feeling it tonight.

Houseplanter · 26/01/2024 21:30

@PoisonMaple I so hope all works out well x

DrinkingAllTheGin · 26/01/2024 21:38

@annaT2122 Yes, and have one in the room with me.

Sybila · 26/01/2024 21:41

I got on an early flight to Alicante and now I’m sitting on a hotel balcony with a cheap bottle of cava contemplating life. Fly home tomorrow with my vitamin D rebooted.

Sybila · 26/01/2024 21:42

@PoisonMaple sending you massive hugs

shellshapes · 26/01/2024 21:47

My partners gone out for a beer at a leaving get together, he'll be bringing me home a waffle.

Small children fast asleep upstairs.

And I'm sat watching Twilight 😂 it's a teenage
guilty pleasure and saw it on Prime so!

cantbecaught · 26/01/2024 21:57

PoisonMaple, sending strength vibes and I hope so much you get positive news.

I've had a cosy night having dinner and tv with DH and teenage kids dotting in and out.

Somatosensational · 26/01/2024 21:59

@PoisonMaple I hope you manage to get some sleep.

I'm fast approaching old-hagdom and have just watched Gattaca while drinking wine and eating ice cream. About to retire with a book, but I'd much rather be shagging.

Wow! Is this possible? Could I do this? That sounds just....wow!!!

Weesiewoo · 26/01/2024 22:12

It's Saturday morning where I am. It's going to be a hot one today. I've just finished painting my son's room. I started the second coat at 5 am and its just after 8 now. I've gone for a swim in the pool as it's 81% humidity. That won't be my last swim today.
Can I come and play in the snow??

Loveandserenity · 26/01/2024 22:14

@JubileeJumps I'm sorry for your loss.
@PoisonMaple sending well wishes and hoping for good news for your family
@Sybila - did you go for the day? What a day well spent.

I went out for dinner tonight with family. Put my DC to bed and now lying scrolling through Mumsnet. I really like hearing how people live alone and love it. Separated last year and used to love my own company but it's been a little difficult recently. Finally feel like I'm getting there though.

LoveFridayNights · 26/01/2024 22:15

@WhatsYourDamageHeather tell me more! What are you doing whilst there? Literally you are there one night? I think I'm in awe of you right now. I love my kids and DH BUT I would love to do this. The stuff of fantasies.

Itiswhysofew · 26/01/2024 22:37

Took dog out for a walk around the village.
Collected niece from work.
Was watching Edge of Darkness with Mel Gibso, but switched off to pop onto mumsnetGrin

My life is in serious need of an overhaul.

RobinHood19 · 26/01/2024 22:57

I just came in from work (midnight where I am). Need to get ready for bed, will spend an hour or so prepping for tomorrow morning - I’m volunteering to take a class of 15-18 year olds at church so I need a solid plan or they’ll run me over.

@Sybila enjoy the break - I love going away for a really short time. My parents are flying 3.5 hours to visit for one night next weekend. We’ll get 2 full days together, but we’re used to this in my family. I’m in an industry where I can rarely take more than 3-4 days off in a row, so I live off impromptu short visits to family and friends in different countries, or I’d never get any quality time with them. I sometimes wish I could ask for 2 weeks off like most people!

Scutterbug · 26/01/2024 22:58

I have had some wine. And I went out to look for evil people but some woman sent me home. I’m watching tv now. It is Graham Norton. I think he’s quite annoying. You are lucky to have snow, I love snow.

TheBirdintheCave · 26/01/2024 23:37

We put the toddler to bed, put the shopping away when it arrived, cleaned and tidied the kitchen, painted the last wall in the hallway then collapsed on the sofa with snacks for some true crime. Husband played RDR2 afterwards whilst I watched. Looking forward to our 8am lie in tomorrow!

bluesatin · 26/01/2024 23:51

Just gone to bed after a fun day at a board game convention. Today I have been variously in charge of a space fleet, been a homicidal dwarf welding a large axe, and also been a 2 mile high planet-eating frog.
