Hi there,

I hate online dating and am looking to meet a. 40+ year old lady. Now clearly I’m not 25 any more so I’m not lurking in all the pubs/nightclubs and I expect neither are you.
my kids are grown so no “bumping into mums/parents etc”,
my work is pretty solitary and i have a small circle of friends.
I thought about scanning the “recently divorced “ section of the local paper but then realised there isn’t one!
so joking aside where would you ladies suggest is a Good place to meet a nice down to earth, everyday kind of lady without seeming like a stalker!

Hi, I wonder the same thing but I'm looking for a man. I am 39 in 2 months. I suppose it depends on where you live, city or rural?

I've had several different hobbies over the years and met men there. I hate OLD too. It just never works out for me. Men on there are weird or creepy.

I'm hiding out in my house.

Sporty active holidays - something like Neilson Beachclub sailing/activity holidays - off-season, not peak family times though - say May/Sep/Oct - that’s when a bunch of us are all going.

I’m currently hanging about in an interesting foreign hotel naturist spa area…

…but I would otherwise be sitting at home in the dark.

Sport. Hobby. Through friends. Work. Blind date. Put it out there - tell people you are looking for a relationship, as maybe someone has a sister/cousin/colleague/friend who they think would be a good match for you & they could introduce. It's not easy, not going to lie

I’m probably most likely to meet people either at work or volunteering overseas, as I don’t really seem to do much else with others.

The thing is, I’m actually pretty content on my own, so that’s what any man who wants to spend time with me has to compete with.

Sports clubs and gyms
hiking clubs
supermarkets
And don’t discount OLD
and Pilates and yoga classes !!

OLD is the way forward.

Its all very well doing yoga classes and the like but most people tend to arrive and then just go, plus you are hoping that in the group of say 16 that turn up, there is 1 or more people that are single, right age and you have an attraction to.

OLD can be a pain and there are plenty of idiots out there (M&F) but it is fun and there are some good ones out there!

I would also add the following:

• book clubs
• Wine tastings
• any kind of language or art class
• Cooking classes
• Alumni events
• Networking events
• supper clubs
• local park runs

I go to a lot of these and the majority of these predominantly attract females.
