How should I approach my crush?

I have a crush on the man who works in a shop down my road. We are the same age and have spoken a few times. I think he's gorgeous and I've developed a crush on him. I'm thinking of just going in and slipping him note with my number or asking him on a date.

What would you do?

Spend a bit more time between now and feb popping into the shop and having the craic with him, then buy a valentine card with your phone number and an invite for a drink and hand it over.

Wow this is a brilliant idea! Thank you so much.

Only issue is I'm away for most of March so wonder if I should wait til after then.

I cant stop thinking about him and know he is single.

No don’t wait. The idea with the valentine card above is great. But you can always chat him up, find sth you like in common and tell him sth like “let’s grab a coffee sometime”

SaladDays2024 · 21/01/2024 19:51

So what if you're away most (and not even all) of march. You could just explain and work something out. Don't use excuses!

Just wonder if it would fizzle out if I can't see him for a month?

Thanks for the support. I've initiated a date before with a guy and been badly burned but I fancy this guy so much and they say fortune favours the bold so I thought why not?

But you wouldn't see him either way if you're away. At least if you make a move before you disappear in march he has a way of contacting you and keeping the flame going, texts, video chat....

JamSandle · 21/01/2024 19:59

There's also a bit of fear of rejection but then if it's a no I can move on. Still a bit scared.🙈

Add him on social media? Then get chatting on there

He doesn't have any.

How do you know he doesn't have SM? You appear to have chatted a bit so I'd just give him your tel number.

We've chatted a couple of times but I've seen him around much more. He works in a family run business and his dad (who I've spoken to more) said before his son doesn't use SM.

Just ask him for a coffee! Sorry you got burned last time but most men appreciate directness (we are very bad at getting hints so he probably doesn't even know you like him). Good luck

Thank you! I'm going to go for it. Just need to build my nerve. He's very good looking and I am scared of rejection but I think id regret not going for it.

Try flirting a bit more first!

Go for it. Life is short. And there ar emany ways you can subtly pass him your number. Then it’s up to him to take it from there 😆
