Our anniversary seems to follow hot on the heels of Xmas so we generally don't do much besides getting a bottle of bubbly and/or going out for a meal . This year is a big one and we've got a mini cruise booked in Feb half term but I'd like us to do something else on the day- the 22nd- yikes- it's a Monday and/ or I'd like to get us a joint meaningful present. Had a bit of an up and down year with kids' bonkers lifestyles last year so it would be nice to be able to mark the event for for the two of us in some small-ish way. Hope this makes sense, many thanks.

Any ideas at all would be helpful :)

How many years? Might be some ideas of silver, pearl ruby gifts perhaps?

Thingsthatgo · 17/01/2024 16:13

Congratulations! Ours is on the 22nd too!
It's not a big one for us though. We are going to do an escape room together with our kids, so not much help there I'm afraid. We like to buy a piece of art for our anniversary, and we go and choose it together at a gallery, open studio or auction.

@Raera thanks I hadn't even thought of this. Yes it's 30 years, which is a pearl apparently. Not sure how to incorporate them though

@Thingsthatgo hmm, that's giving me an idea. I might see about a nice picture or maybe a frame for a picture of the family. Need to get a wiggle on.

Our 30th too this summer. We have decided to have a series of mini breaks together in addition to usual holiday with uni age kids. Concerts etc. Have enough ‘stuff’ but won’t say no if we happen to see some pearl earrings while we are away!

@Whatwouldnanado thanks, hope you have a lovely anniversary!

For our ten year anniversary I bought my husband the extra child we never managed to have. It's just far hairier than ours would have been. I bought him a dog.
In retrospect maybe not the best present as he's absolutely smitten and spends more time now hugging the dog than me!

@Totemoneru aww! reading that makes me want my husband to get me DD2- a black, waggy- tailed darling dog 2.
