Is he really unemployed?

STBXH's £50k a year job ended 2 days before he filed for divorce (not sure if he quit or was fired). It's been about 6 months and I'm finding it hard to believe he is still unemployed although whenever he sends voice notes to DC during the week, he sounds like he just got up and is in bed during late mornings/early afternoons and he's at the gym/driving/listening to music/watching TV at 3/4pm.
With this being said, he continues to pay for the mortgage in our marital home, travels, eats out etc. I'm confused as to where he's getting money from if he isn't working.

does he pay maintenance?
is the divorce progressing?
who ended the marriage?

MILTOBE · 12/01/2024 17:41

I think men who do give up work to avoid paying child maintenance should go to jail.

Redundancy payout?

Fired and threatened to take them to a tribunal, and got paid off?

Quit and got put on gardening leave?

No maintenance. He claimed loss of earnings.
Divorce is progressing however, he is not cooperating with disclosing finances.
He kind of ended the marriage (just decided not to speak to me anymore and moved after a few months). I much later found out he cheated with multiple women and I believe he is seeing someone now.

Would he be hiding
Coming into money ? Like a lotto win or inheritance ?

Do you have proof his job ended? Or did he just tell you verbally?

Make a child support claim via CSA. They check direct with HMRC so if he is employed?(Paye) they will get his employment and Income. It is literally a few clicks for them to get this info
