A long time ago (over 25 years ago), I had a brief fling with a man from another country. He had to return to his home country when his post was up.
Kept a little contact over the years. We speak different languages, I don't speak his language at all. Recently had a very brief chat, and he'd like to come and see me. He has always said he wanted to see me again over the years but now I am single again, it seems to have spurred him on.
I would like to see him again for old time sake but it has been such a long time. We don't know each other any more, if we ever even really did. He said at the time and a few times over the years that he loved me, he can't have, we didn't know each other enough - I guess he loved the idea of me. His home country is 'single race', I am a different race to him. Maybe he thought I was different.
I'd worry about what he expected when he arrived (to slip back into how it was before).... He can't fly in just to say hello for a few hours... Don't know what I'm asking really, just musing... Any thoughts please?
