Speed dating

Has anyone (especially late 40s early 50s) been to a speed dating event recently? I've never been to one at all and realise they're not as common as they used to be, so I'm just wondering what they're really like. Especially compared to O.L.D..

I looked into it, but when I realised I was classed as a "Silver Surfer". I stopped looking. Im only 51!

People go to these events for a laugh. It’s like OLD but in real life. People tick your box on the like sheet, and then don’t send you a message after the event.

I don’t know anyone who has gone to them for serious reasons I do know people that went for a laugh but nothing came of it
