11 year age gap. Am I overthinking it?

Would you consider an 11 year age gap too much? Currently 40 and have been single for 2 years. Have started seeing socially (so just for drinks etc) someone I met through a hobby. He’s 51 and although I wasn’t thinking about him in that way at all when I first met him, over the last few months we’ve really connected and I really get the impression he is interested in me and would like to take things further. The age thing bothers me and I don’t know why though, we have a laugh together, we have shared interests and just click.

I am mid 40s and dp is mid 50s, been together a long time but he is turning into an old man and I really don’t feel at that stage yet! Just see how it goes?

I was never interested in much older men but maybe you should judge on who he is and how you both connect, rather than age. Adults are adults. Yes a lot of older men "let themselves go", but they are not all like that and I know some lively fit types in their 50s and 60s.

Plus, taking it further at this stage, if you feel like doing so, isn't making an irrevocable life time commitment! Why don't you see where it goes. 0ne of my best friends has been married to a man 11 years older since her late 20s and she retired early to go travelling with him. They are always off on holiday. He is mid 70s now.

We have a 14 year age gap and we are (I truely believe) happy together.

I have a similar age gap. We sometimes get asked which way the round the gap is 🤣 He was blessed with good genes and still looks great at 52. I’m definitely the more mature one in the marriage, his sex drive is higher than mine and my health is worse so I don’t think it’s made any difference to us. We’ve been together twenty years.
